HUB LIGHT & FASHION SHOW 2026 – An Artistic Milestone in HUB’s 50-Year Journey

On the afternoon of September 26, 2026, at the Main Auditorium, Thu Duc Campus, the Grassroots Trade Union of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking organized the "HUB LIGHT & FASHION SHOW 2026" under the theme "50 Years – Proud of Tradition, Stepping Firmly into the Future". This is one of the activities aimed toward celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment and development of the University, while creating a playground for officials, employees, and workers to promote their talents, creativity, and spirit of solidarity through the language of art.

Attending the Gala were Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung – President of Ho Chi Minh City University of Banking; Dr. Nguyen Tran Phuc – Vice President; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Thi Thanh Hang – President of the Grassroots Trade Union; members of the Executive Committee of the Grassroots Trade Union; leaders of units; Executive Committees of affiliated trade union branches; 11 competing teams from 11 trade union branches, along with a large number of officials, employees, workers, and students attending to follow and cheer. The presence of the competing teams and cheering squads created an enthusiastic atmosphere right from the first minutes of the program.

Delivering the opening remarks at the Gala, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duc Trung emphasized the special significance of the program in the series of activities toward the milestone of 50 years of the University's founding. Accordingly, the half-century journey of HUB has been created not only by achievements in training, scientific research, and cooperation, but also nourished by the dedication, sense of responsibility, and love for the University of generations of officials and employees. The Gala is an occasion for these values to be expressed in a fresh, emotionally rich form; thereby enhancing cohesion, inspiring pride, and spreading the spirit of creativity within the HUB community.

Accompanying the competing teams was the Board of Judges consisting of Nguyen Minh Thanh – Lecturer at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music; Tran Phan Hai Au – Choreographer, Dance Lecturer at Hong Van Drama Theatre; Nguyen Thi Thu Hien – Model, Miss Asia Pacific International Vietnam 2019.

As a HUB alumna, Model and Miss Nguyen Thi Thu Hien expressed her impression of the investment scale, meticulousness, and staging scale of the performances. For her, this is a special experience when she first gets to watch the Teachers showcase their talents on stage, instead of accompanying student competitions like her previous visits back to HUB. She also stated that the Board of Judges will work carefully and objectively to duly recognize the outstanding performances.

The highlight of the Gala is 11 performances built in various approaches, flexibly combining fashion, singing, dancing, drama, music, lighting, images, and stage effects. Through this, the story of HUB's 50-year journey is recreated from multiple perspectives: from tradition, knowledge, people, belief, the spirit of dedication to innovation, sustainable development, and aspirations towards the future.

Opening the competition section, the Faculty of Economic Law Union Branch brought "From the Vietnamese Soul to Lighting the Torch of Knowledge", followed by the Department of Inspection & Quality Assurance Union Branch with "HUB – 50 Years of Expanding Horizons"; the Faculty of Banking Union Branch with "Bank of Light – 50 Years of Entrusting Belief, Receiving the Future".

The subsequent performances continued to expand the story of HUB with "HUB – Connecting Knowledge, Spreading Values, Shaping the Future" by the Department of Academic Affairs, Department of Admissions & Communications, and Graduate School; "HUB Rising in the New Era" by the Centers; "50 Years – One Journey" by the Faculty of Business Administration; "50 Years of Sowing Knowledge – Elevating Aspirations" by the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The stage continued to be extended with "HUB Green Journey" by the Department of IT Management & Office of the University Union Branch; "The Eternal Flame" by the Faculty of Accounting & Auditing; "Prosperous Vietnam" by the Institute of Scientific Research, Journal and Library; before closing the competition section with "HUB – Towards the Future with Vietnam" coming from the Department of Student Affairs Union Branch.

Each performance carried its own color and storytelling method, but met together in pride regarding the 50-year journey of the University. Behind those minutes of performance on stage is the process of preparation, practice, coordination, and serious investment by units, thereby demonstrating another energetic, creative image of HUB officials and employees.

Besides the main competition, the program also featured student art performances and a "Lucky Wheel" activity for the audience, contributing to creating a vibrant exchange atmosphere during the time waiting for the Board of Judges to tabulate results.

After 11 performances, the Board of Judges gave professional comments and evaluations, acknowledging the investment, creativity, as well as the all-out spirit of the competing teams. The Gala concluded with the announcement of results, awarding of prizes, and moments of together recording the impression of a special artistic playground in the year celebrating the 50th founding anniversary of the University.

"HUB LIGHT & FASHION SHOW 2026" not only brought a brilliant stage of fashion, music, and light, but also created a space for units to connect, create, and spread the spirit of solidarity. From 11 stories on stage, the image of HUB emerges with the depth of tradition, the vitality of the present, and the aspiration towards a new development path.
